Wheatears arrive from Africa at about the same time as the first lambs are born. Lewis is extremely important for birds, both for the huge numbers of waders that breed on the Lewis peatlands and as a major migration route from Iceland, Greenland and the Arctic to Britain and Europe. Lewis Wind Power`s proposals are a massive threat to these birds.
